The gap between what you intend
and what you execute is behavioral.
So is the solution.
BEAM Mentor is a private executive and founder mentorship practice built on one discipline: behavioral systems engineering applied to human performance.
This is not insight work. This is not reflection-based coaching.
This is structured assessment, systems design, and precision execution — applied to the way you lead, decide, and perform under pressure.
What makes this different.
The executive coaching market is crowded with frameworks borrowed from psychology, productivity research, and motivational theory. Most of it operates at the level of awareness — helping you see the problem more clearly.
Execution is.
BEAM Mentor is built on applied behavioral science — a discipline that has spent decades doing one thing: engineering individual behavior and organizational environments that change what people actually do, not what they intend to do.
When a founder stalls at a critical decision point, when an executive team misaligns on priorities, when a high-capacity operator keeps hitting the same friction — the cause is behavioral. The maintenance factors are identifiable. And the solution is engineered, not discovered.
The work focuses on four performance domains
Decision Architecture
Strengthening the clarity, speed, and reliability of high-stakes decisions under pressure.
Execution Friction
Identifying and eliminating the structural and behavioral drag that slows performance at the individual and organizational level.
Leadership Alignment
Installing the contingencies and behavioral standards that keep leadership teams executing toward shared outcomes — consistently.
Performance Capacity
Expanding what is reliably possible — not through motivation, but through systems that make high-performance behavior the path of least resistance.
Team Execution Systems
Designing the behavioral standards, accountability structures, and feedback mechanisms that translate leadership intent into consistent team performance.
This practice is built for a specific type of person.
Founders, executives, and high-capacity operators who are already performing at a high level and have hit a ceiling — not in ambition, but in execution. People who know exactly what needs to happen and find themselves asking why it isn't.
- You have already done the mindset work.
- You are not looking for a thinking partner.
- You are looking for a systems engineer who can assess what is causing the drag, identify what is maintaining it, and build the architecture that moves you forward.
If that describes where you are, this work is worth a conversation.

Founded and scaled behavioral performance organizations across the U.S. and U.K. Secured significant government contracts through competitive RFP processes with Hawaii's Department of Education and Department of Health, and with regional centers and school districts throughout the Bay Area. Expanded operations across eight U.S. states. Founded BEAM ABA in London — secured a national NHS contract and achieved Care Quality Commission accreditation. Executed multiple successful exits.
Currently operates a boutique private practice serving founders, executives, and leadership teams navigating high-demand environments.

Donald Wachelka is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, founder, and behavioral systems engineer with over 30 years of applied practice — entering the field in 1991, establishing professional practice in 1994, and earning Board Certification in 2000, held continuously since.
His career was not built in a consulting practice. It was built in the field — founding companies, securing government contracts, expanding across national and international markets, and executing successful exits.
The behavioral science expertise that now informs BEAM Mentor was developed and stress-tested inside real organizations, under real pressure, at real scale.
That distinction matters to the people this practice serves.
"I assess what is causing and maintaining performance drag — and I engineer the conditions that make your best performance the most likely performance. Not occasionally. Consistently."
— Donald Wachelka, Founder, BEAM Mentor
A track record built on execution.
Founded on Maui in 1998. Built a multi-state behavioral performance organization with significant operations across Hawaii — Maui, Oahu, and the Big Island — and the San Francisco Bay Area, securing substantial government contracts through competitive RFP processes with Hawaii's Department of Education, Department of Health, and regional centers and school districts throughout the Bay Area. Executed a strategic acquisition of Behavior Counseling and Research Center in 2009, expanding the Bay Area footprint, before rebranding as Trumpet Behavioral Health to align with a shared vision for national growth.
Co-founded and expanded operations across eight U.S. states in under three years through organic growth and strategic acquisition.
Founded a proprietary practice management platform serving behavioral health organizations. Successfully divested the medical billing and credentialing units in 2016.
Founded BEAM ABA in London — secured a national contract with the NHS, achieved Care Quality Commission accreditation, and pioneered the UK's first tele-practice ABA delivery model.
Founded 2017. Leads a team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts delivering behavioral consulting services across the Bay Area.
Currently operates as a private executive and founder mentorship practice. Engagements are selective, highly individualized, and focused on measurable performance outcomes.
How the work actually operates.
Every engagement begins with assessment — not assumption. Before any system is designed or any coaching begins, the work starts with a precise diagnostic: What is the performance gap? What is causing it? What conditions are maintaining it? Where are the skills gaps?
This is applied behavioral science in practice. It is systematic, evidence-based, and designed to produce measurable change — not insight, not motivation, not momentary clarity.
The output is a performance architecture: a set of structured systems, behavioral standards, and execution mechanisms tailored specifically to the individual or leadership team. Built to hold under pressure. Built to be measured. Built to produce reliable forward movement over time.
The behavioral science that drives this work was not learned in a classroom and applied in a practice. It was developed inside real enterprises — scaled under pressure, tested across complex organizational environments, and refined over 30 years of applied field experience.
When you engage BEAM Mentor, you are not working with someone who read the research. You are working with someone who built organizations with it.

1:1 Executive & Founder Coaching
For
Founders, executives, and high-capacity operators navigating high-demand performance environments who need individualized behavioral systems work — not a framework, not a program, not a group cohort.
How It Works
Monthly retainer engagement structured around your specific performance architecture — decision velocity, execution cadence, leadership standards, or a defined performance objective. Sessions are delivered in a hybrid format: in-person, video conference, phone, and direct advisory access between sessions.
Engagements are built around measurable outcomes and sustained forward movement.
Leadership & Organizational Diagnostic
For
PE firms, executive leadership teams, and founders navigating organizational scale, leadership misalignment, or execution friction at the team level.
How It Works
A structured diagnostic engagement — typically four to five weeks — designed to identify the primary sources of leadership and execution friction within the organization. Includes confidential leadership interviews, behavioral assessment of decision flow and communication patterns, and delivery of a Leadership Performance Diagnostic.
Diagnostic findings outline friction points, structural gaps, and recommended interventions — and inform whether and how a longer engagement is structured.
Speaking & Executive Training
For
Organizations, leadership conferences, and executive forums seeking a practitioner-level voice on behavioral performance, execution systems, and leadership architecture.
